Texas Step by Step Instructions

Step 1:

Click the link or go to the Texas Unclaimed Property website by entering this URL in your browser:
https://www.claimittexas.gov

Step 2:

Search for unclaimed property by typing in your last name (or business name) and first name.
To refine your results, you can also enter a city or ZIP code.

Step 3:

Review the list of matching properties and select the ones you want to claim.
Once you’ve made your selections, click “Continue To File Claim.”

Step 4:

Indicate your relationship to each listed property owner.

Step 5:

Provide your personal information as requested.

Step 6:

Electronically sign the form and review your claim before submitting.

Step 7:

Your claim is now submitted!
You’ll receive a confirmation by email or mail from the Texas Comptroller’s Unclaimed Property Division. If additional documents are required, they’ll be listed in the message.
The email may contain the following attachment or similar:
**The email will list two options to submit the required documentation.
1. Upload to secure website:
ClaimItTexas.org
2. Mail documentation to:
  Unclaimed Property Division
     P.O. Box 12046
     Austin, TX 78711

To check the status of your claim, visit:
